Alyssa Jewell, MLIS, is a musician, former children’s librarian turned storytime consultant, and author of Move, Play, Learn: Interactive Storytimes with Music, Movement, and More from ALA Editions. She is the creator of La La Librarian, a storytime resource platform serving librarians, educators, and families through original music, videos, concerts, and professional development, and the founder of Storytime Central, a year-round professional development program that supports children’s librarians and early childhood educators. With 18 years of experience at the intersection of music, play, storytelling, and early literacy, Jewell brings a practical, interdisciplinary lens to storytime work. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Education, K–12 teaching certification, and an MLIS, and has written music, musicals, and stage adaptations of bestselling books for young children and families. Her first children’s book, The Apple Song, will be published by F-Flat Books in 2027.
