About Lachi

Named a USA Today Woman of the Year, Lachi is an award-winning recording artist, author, media personality, and internationally renowned Disability Culture champion. Born legally blind, Lachi created the U.N.-recognized organization RAMPD.org (Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities), which works to make the highest levels of the music industry more disability inclusive.

Lachi's latest album, Magnificent, released by Platoon, brings together more than 50 creators with disabilities and other conditions (including Matthew Whitaker, Raul Midón, Lisa Loeb, and Mandy Harvey) on a vibrant collection of anthemic pop songs celebrating difference, earning editorial support from Apple and Spotify and airplay on SiriusXM.

From her Glam Canes fashion line, to hosting PBS series Renegades, to her award-winning book & audiobook I Identify as Blind, to co-producing GRAMMY-nominated album The Colors in My Mind, Lachi leverages pop culture, through humor, music, storytelling, fashion, public speaking, and a pinch of soul to challenge the stigma often associated with disability.

Our CMN annual conference is now over 30 years old!! Every year it gets bigger and better, creating many opportunities for performers, educators, songwriters, librarians, and families—all those who love music for children—to gather. Together, we connect and reconnect and fill our hearts with laughter and song by sharing songs, ideas, resources and information.

Interested? Our 2025 Conference was a blast!  Check it out!

Looking forward to seeing you in 2026, #cannotwait!
